Los Angeles Arboretum Wedding by Jennifer Fujikawa Photography

If you love colorful weddings with lots of interesting and one of a kind details, you will absolutely love this Islamic wedding! The couple used a lot of bright colors for their ceremony and the reception. All shades of purple, green, turquoise and orange just help to create such unique ambiance for the whole wedding. Various paper flowers, paper balloons and white cozy sofa for guests to sit, relax and chat, embroidered cushions added to create comfort. Such fun details! We love the idea of using cushions. We love cushions because cushions are such a versatile product, adding to the levels of comfort and sense of style. Add a splash of daring color with lavender accent and you have something truly spectacular!

Jennifer Fujikawa Photography captured some gorgeous images of the bride. Let's enjoy the variety of her adornments such as her traditional beaded veil with its finest embroidery and the jewelry the bride used to accentuate her natural beauty and grace, May we just confess we love her statement necklace encrusted with tiny stones and her luxurious earrings?! Simply stunning, isn't it?!

From the bride: We had a lot of fun planning our special day! Our favorite moment was the nikkah or the actual Islamic wedding itself. It was such a beautiful a moment to be surrounded by everyone we love as we made this commitment to each other. The funniest moment was having Mesbah's shoe stolen by Sarah's brother and sister which is a common tradition in Pakistani weddings. The shoe is kept for ransom until the groom pays the bride's family for it back. We had some great photos of the hilarious negotiations between the bride and grooms' families. To us, it was important to incorporate traditions from our Pakistani Muslim background as well as keeping it as environmentally friendly as possible. Sarah painted the backdrop for the stage. (www.sarahjawaid.com) Primary Petals did our seasonal flower arrangements and paper flower arbor. We had a note on the tables thanking guests for coming and letting them know we donated to a charity in their name: Umma Clinic. Sarah's mom made the cute frog cake toppers. We had hand-painted boxes from Kashmir and wood carved Chinese folding fans as party favors. Our wedding day was perfect. The rays of sunshine glistening through the trees, the peacocks chirping in the background, the colors, the good traditional Pakistani food, the cheers from our loved ones...it was seamless and magical. We will cherish this day forever.
