Los Angeles Wedding by Amanda K. Photography

Heart be still... this wedding is just too good for words. Photographed by the talented Amanda K Photography, this wedding boasts the most amazing photographs. Thank you, Amanda, for sharing this wedding with us!

From the bride: We had a very personal, fun, people-focused wedding. We kept the traditions that had meaning for us, and left out things like the bouquet toss. I'm half Persian, so we decided to include a tradition called the sofreh table, wherein the bride and groom sit in front of a table decorated with elaborate, symbolic items, such as mirrors, pomegranates, candles, and honey. Each woman in the family then prays a blessing over the couple while grinding cones of sugar over their heads. The bride then ends the ritual by putting out the candles with the sole of her shoe! Our colors were lavender, dark purple, and light grey. Our invites were done in a sort of craftsman style, and I designed them. My favorite moments were our first look, and taking communion with our bridal party and family before the ceremony. One funny moment was when one of my groomsmen ripped the seat of his pants from dancing too hard. The story that everyone tells about our wedding, though, was how it was pouring rain all day, but cleared up right before our outdoor ceremony, and a patch of blue sky and sunshine came out right as we were saying our vows.
