Seven years we have shared a name. We were nineteen
when we made our promises. I do. Let no man separate. I
promise to love, cherish, protect till death do us part. It
was a love that was born in the halls of high school, at
fourteen, between a boy who wore bow ties with brown eyes
gazing across the classroom at a girl in the back wearing
fishnets and black scribbling poetry and song. And it was
meant, destined, purposed—but it was our choice and we took
it. Once we were married, something new happened—our young
love grew, changed, strengthened and deepened. It became
foundational, something to build upon from that day
forward, in sickness or in health, in sorrow and in joy. I
take you to have and to hold. I pledge my faithfulness. -Hannah
