From the bride: I couldn't have asked for a more special weekend. The rehearsal day was beautiful and had to have been the most fun we had with all of our close friends and family. It was a relaxing backyard BBQ at the home I grew up in where the best man, maid of honor, and father of the bride gave the toasts. I couldn't help but tear up when my dad gave the most heart warming toast I have ever heard. The wedding day was beautiful at my families cattle ranch near Lake Tahoe. The weather was perfect for all our friends and family to celebrate outside under the pine trees. I wanted a relaxing and inviting atmosphere so we asked each guest to have a song request on their RSVP card. It was so much fun to see people excited about their song throughout the day. We had hap-hazard hay bails for seating in the ceremony and reception with guests own picnic blankets. All the bridesmaids worn what they wanted since I did not want colors and the groomsmen were just told to look "fancy". My dad drove me up to the ceremony location under a crop of tall pine trees in the open meadow in my grandpa's hold white Ford and walked me through the wooden bridge over a small stream to where I saw my future husband gleaming from ear to ear. Our good friend Paul married us with a Gospel centered ceremony focusing on how our marriage would be a reflection of God's love for us. Our favorite part was taking our first communion together as a married couple during the ceremony. It was when I first began to cry, felt the emotion of the day, and truly felt a spiritual bond between my husband. After the emotions came the fun! We had a great time drinking home-made sangria and eating onsite BBQ from our caterer. Instead of cake we had home-made pies of all flavors and gave home-made jam as gifts. The groomsmen had fun throwing logs as an old Scottish game the kids loved picking the wildflowers. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding and more gorgeous location!
