From the bride: First off, I absolutely ADORED my dress and would wear it every day if that was socially acceptable. I felt like my dress was made for me and fit my personality so well (one of the many reasons my mom and friends loved it too) and I felt gorgeous in it and who doesn't want to feel that way on their wedding day? Our wedding day was beautiful and perfect (besides it being crazy hot!), but I'm sure that everyone says that. Sam and I getting married was a long time coming and we were so ready to finally be man and wife, to live life together fully, and to share our life together with our community. So the entire day was full of relief, giddiness and just pure bliss. Our first-look was probably my favorite part of our day. We had so much fun just being together before the ceremony, just him and I, and getting to celebrate together that we were getting married! What a gift! The ceremony was perfect -- because of the people that came to support us and celebrate with us (how can you not feel loved to see all those people there for you?!), but mostly because of the message of Jesus that was shared and his love for us. It was so exciting to have people come up to us after and say how much they truly enjoyed our ceremony and we were so thankful that they got to hear about Jesus. We didn't have a wedding coordinator or anything (I wish we had!) but between my planning and our catering company, our reception turned out simple and beautiful. I can't say that I really had a theme, maybe sweet and southern would best describe it. My goal was that people would have fun and just enjoy themselves and to me that meant the food had to be good, the beer had to be cold, and the music had to be bumping :) Our colors were yellow and grey and we naturally chose sunflowers for the main flower which I guess in some ways was a theme. Through chance we added the photobooth and gelati bar (thanks to Deluca Gelato!) and those seem to be the hit of the night, even more than us! We loved dancing with out friends (our group is known for dance parties) and watching them have a blast! I mean, I didn't see this happen, but there is a picture that Rebekah captured of my friend Caroline throwing my brothers tie around his neck, pulling him in for a dance, and I just LOVE it and can't help but laugh when I see it! I'm so grateful that those moments were captured and I can forever experience little bits of joy as I look through them. It was everything that we hoped it would be and I feel like I fall more in love with that day every time I get to talk to someone about it. What a gift it was!
