"Kathy & Dave's love story started a few years ago when they met at a mutual friends' christmas party. She's in upper management for a national clothing retail giant in New York, and he's a manager for a golf course in New Jersey. Kathy & Dave decided to have a elopement ceremony out here in California since they were planning on a trip out here anyways. They figured they should make a honeymoon out of it! Although they do have plans on having a formal reception in their home state of New Jersey later this year. Dave wore a sharp suit from Banana Republic and Kathy wore a dress from Macy's. The ceremony was simple, intimate, and full of love. In a simple outdoor ceremony, they pledged the rest of their lives together. No bridal party, no fancy decoration, just the love between the two of them. It was the most beautiful wedding!" -Jeremy Chou

From the couple: We were engaged in December and since we take vacation in January, we started to think about a destination wedding for two. California and Arizona were already planned so we investigated both states' marriage requirements for a wedding only 3 weeks away. We had booked our stay at the Loews Santa Monica Beach hotel and from the website their views of the Pacific were really breathtaking. The catering manager was lovely to work with and provided us with the perfect outdoor spot - The Colonnade. Next we found an officiate, Father Jerry Bellamy, a retired priest who has performed over 7,000 weddings! We spoke with him from New Jersey and he helped us plan our wedding ceremony. I found The French Florist in LA whose floral designer created the most beautiful bouquet and boutonniere. Our photographer, Jeremy Chou was recommended to us by another local photographer who was previously booked for Jan 15th. Jeremy's architectural background and his ability to capture unexpected moments made our decision to select him an easy one. We purchased our rings in NYC and I found my gown on the dress floor at Macy's in the Herald Square store. Our wedding day arrived and most memorable was how relaxing it was. Just the two of us going out to breakfast, myself getting nails and hair styled at the hotel and the two of us enjoying a glass of champagne before our service. Our ceremony and photography session were perfect and so many passers by offered us their congratulations. Our New Jersey friends surprised us by treating us to our Wedding dinner which we enjoyed at Shutters on the Beach. What we especially loved was that we spent the entire day together, really enjoying our wedding day. We look forward to celebrating with family and friends with a reception in NJ in the fall.
