Mexico Destination Wedding by Nancy Orozco Photography

From the couple: After 9 years, we were both ready to tie the knot :) We were both very excited and ready to start the planning, but after discussing our guest list and our budget, we come to realize it wasn't going to be as easy as we had planned. Both of our families were struggling to make ends meet that we did not want to ask for any financial help from them so we decided we would do it all on our own. With that said, we had to consider the different options we had for our wedding. Do we go big and spend all of our savings on our wedding? Do we do small and intimate allowing us to continue to save? Do we do local knowing we may not get exactly what we want? or Do we have a destination wedding in which we also get a vacation out of? After setting our budget and doing some research online, we decided to have a destination wedding in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. We set a date and made sure the weather would be just right for that time of year. The main reason we choose San Jose del Cabo, Mexico is because it was so much more affordable than any of the other locations we had looked into, it was not to far, it was more family oriented, plus we would be able to have a beautiful wedding on the beach :) I got in contact with a wedding planner (because God knows i could not do it on my own) who gathered all of our information as far as our guest list, budget, etc. With this information, our wedding planner (who was just a sweet heart) was able to recommend numerous locations for the ceremony and reception. After reviewing the list and checking reviews online, we decided to have all of our wedding events at the Hola Grand Faro All Inclusive Resort in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. We informed all of our guest a little over a year that we would be having a destination wedding in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico therefor allowing them plenty of time to plan and save. We provided them well in advance with hotel information/ pricing, estimated flight prices, saving tips and pointed out to them that not only would they be sharing in a special moment in our lives but also get to make a vacation out of it which most of our guest needed :) We wanted a small intimate romantic beach destination wedding which turned out to be just perfect. It was the best decision we had made. We had a total of 30 guest (out of 80 that were invited) which consisted of both of our parents, immediate relatives and closest friends. Everyone enjoyed every minute of it. Most of our guest arrived a couple of days before the wedding and enjoyed themselves by doing activities they wanted and just hanging out as family and friends. On our wedding day the weather was nice, everything went smooth (thanks to our wedding planner/ coordinator) and our guest had a blast. Everyone thanked us for having a destination wedding and for allowing them to be part of such a special day. They also said it was the perfect excuse to take a vacation and get away with family and friends which they needed and enjoyed. In the end, we got what we had always wanted. We had a beautiful destination wedding with out breaking our bank account. We had all of the people who mattered most to us attend. It was very intimate and romantic and we got a vacation/honey moon out of it :)
