About the shoot: "Matt and I wanted to create a modern take on Much Ado Nothing because we were inspired by the wickedly flirtatious romance between Beatrice and Benedick. We wanted to show how their relationship starts as a joke that blossoms into a deep, passionate love for one another, and overall, we wanted to embrace the independent spirits of these two characters with a casual bohemian chic style. Our amazing vendors graciously provided their talent, skill and materials for this shoot…and we are so grateful for their hard work to make our vision come to life.
This shoot is split into parts in order to mirror the major parts of the play as Beatrice and Benedick’s relationship progresses: an engagement session, a wedding, and a bridal session with a 16th century vibe (to pay homage to the era in which this play was written). Props include masquerade masks (where Benedick and Beatrice pretend not to recognize each other at a party in the play), a book of Shakespeare’s works, and sonnets with a guitar (to depict how Benedick professes his love to Beatrice, with Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116)."
