Travel Thursdays: Normandy, France by Dixie Martin Photography

Bonjour!  Today we're excited to share Dixie Martin Photography's incredible images of Normandy, France!  The water, the lovely architecture, the breathtaking sunsets - oh my!  The images create a beautiful profile by day and by night with such a wonderful contrast to the personalities of each scene.  Take a seat with a mug of something warm and enjoy travels through France!

From Dixie: Normandy is my favorite region in France because of it's moody coastline and cliffs, it's incredible history, and it's gorgeous country side. There are so many things to see when visiting there, and so many things to do. On my most recent trip we began at Les Andelys where we visited Richard the Lionheart's castle ruins, Château Gaillard. Afterwards we drove to the coast, Étretat specifically. Right outside Étretat in Les Loges, we stayed in a tipi, minutes from the coast. Before visiting the famous cliffs of Étretat, we took a tiny detour to: Fécamp (to see the beautiful Palais Bénédictine & the lovely, and quiet beach), Yport (the very quiet beach, full of artists painting the white cliffs), and we arrived at Étretat just before sunset (which is a must)! After climbing up and down the rocky beach and the sides of the cliffs, I forced my poor husband to drive to Honfleur (where he slept in the car) as I wandered around. It's important to note that even in Étretat, which is very touristic, there is no night life. However, if you're looking for a drink, or to dance, or for ice cream, a nice night walk, etc., Honfleur is very much alive past!
