Woodland Mountain Inspirational Shoot

When stylists of Bride Meets Wedding and Ember Grove Photography planned, organized and photographed this charming Woodland Mountain inspirational shoot, they made us swoon over Christmas magic even more.

Wanting to create their own Christmas magic, this lovely married couple decided to create a shoot filled with the prettiest Christmas decoration you could ever find for Christmas. Wooden thread spools, a vintage typewriter, old lamps, metal and glass jars you could find in antique stores, and a gorgeous combination of red, ivory and blue flowers.

The beautiful bride shared with us how much she'd been waiting to wear her wedding gown again, and that dream became reality at the shoot so wonderfully capturing the magic of Christmas with its miracles, winter season carols and a lot of sparkles in the air.

About: My husband and I recently road tripped to beautiful Durango, Colorado. I'd been dying to wear my wedding dress again and to create that perfect windswept image. Derek and I fell in love all over again. With each other and almost as much so, with the mountains. As sweethearts from Eastern Iowa, we were in absolute awe of the majestic purples, greens, and golds around us. The landscape was STUNNING and I left a piece of my heart in the gorgeous San Juan National Forest. We returned home, and as Aubrey and I began to prep for our styled shoot, I found myself recreating the colors and tones of the mountains. We themed our inspirational shoot as 'sweeter than honey' and were greatly inspired by the tones and richness of nature, both from Colorado and from our beautiful river city - Dubuque, Iowa.

The rich, dark purples and reds were lightly offset by bright golds, rustic metal, and light blue glass, reflecting our river heritage. Four Mounds Inn was the perfect backdrop for our classic, glowing portraits. The historic grounds sparkled in the evening sun and the neutral tones of the estate brought a timeless, authentic base to the glowing portraits we created. We set the table with an eclectic mix of wooden spools and lightly curling ribbons, honey jars and spinners, gold candles, antique ink wells, and light accents of glassy blue.

I hope you'll enjoy our midwest inspirational shoot - it's a touch of woodland, a few drops of Mississippi River, a pinch of mountain inspiration, and a whole lot of good-hearted loveliness.
