The Old Sugar Mill Wedding

About their wedding: The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA, was only the second venue we visited in our preliminary search, but within minutes of our tour there, we knew right away that this was the perfect venue for us. The industrial brick architecture of the main buildings surrounded by beautiful vineyards was incredibly picturesque, and we loved that it had a rustic, but modern atmosphere. We also loved that the venue was so close to our home. Friends and family did not have to travel far to join us. The entire wedding was truly a collaborative effort and all the details represented both of us. We stayed true to our ideas and embraced the things we love. Special details included: Beatle songs from our string quartet; a heartfelt ceremony that was officiated by our good friend; our DJ was able to mix JD's favorite indie rock songs and some of my favorite 90's R&B songs; our dessert table was fabulous and had everything from donuts (my favorite snack!) to snickerdoodle cake; the flowers were created by my talented uncle; my aunt folded and created 1001 cranes into our family crest;, and my maid of honor hand poured candles to create a very special favor for our guests. It truly was a collaborative effort from our friends and family.

Advice from the bride: To enjoy each moment as much as possible because it goes by so fast. It is true! You work and plan for so long and it is over so quickly. Choose vendors that you can trust and can also see your vision. We were so fortunate to come across so many great vendors that we felt comfortable with and truly love what they do. Our DJ was awesome, our caterer created a delicious meal, the desserts were beyond my expectations, Vivian our photographer is truly talented and so easy to work with, and she helped us find to our awesome photobooth!

JD and I are both so fortunate to be surrounded in our lives by so many friends and family. We were touched by the support of our parents and also the endless amount of help that was offered from our loved ones. When our guests tell us how much fun they had or how gorgeous our wedding was we are reminded how special that day was. Each person and detail helped us celebrate our special day.
