A Downton Abbey Inspirational Shoot in the Mojave Desert by Bethany Carlson Photography

I don't know what it is, but I just love styled/inspirational shoots. I really love this particular shoot for two reasons; (1) I LOVE Downton Abbey, and (2) I think shoots in the desert are pretty darn awesome. Thanks Bethany Carlson for sharing this amazing shoot with me!

"The styled shoot was initially inspired by the popular television series, Downton Abby. We wanted to introduce both the early 20th century with the early 21st century. The bride's activities represented an era where women would spend their afternoon practicing their music, waiting for their young suiters to visit them and eventually be asked to marry. Bringing in the elements of sheer, a masculine pipe and dark make-up tones created an edge in our young bride-to-be. The bride's wedding dress brought in both elements of the Victorian-era as well as the advent garde sheer design that will be gradually becoming one of 2012 top wedding dress choice. The groom dressed in a newsboy look inspired by the movie, Newsies. We chose our location in the Mojave Desert because the contrast between dry tumbleweeds and monotonous miles of desert with our vision of root beer floats, late-afternoon bowling, and quiet afternoon in the rocking chairs. The table settings brought in an antique emphasis; such as a vintage door as the table on top of a dark green chest. Candelabras lighting the way. The evening ended with the groom leading his bride and walking off into the desert abyss." ~ Bethany Carlson Photography
