The location, the details, the venue (a 100 year old barn).. all just breathtaking. This beautiful wedding was so wonderfully designed and
Julia Wade Photography did a brilliant job at capturing every.single.moment. Thank you, Julia, for sharing this wedding with us.
Amid the incredible details of this day was a lot of heart, sacrifice and love. Juliette had put a year of her life on hold to care for her matron of honor's children, husband & household while she battled breast cancer. All of that gratitude spilled into their day and made the day incredibly special. The day began with a lot of rain, but finished with epic skies and an incredible party complete with a table full of pies, sparklers and laughter. I hope you enjoy these images of Juliette & Will's wedding as much as I did taking them.. It really was a privilege to travel to the tiny town of Skaneateles, New York to a hundred year old barn in the finger lakes to capture this wedding.. There were so many small and big moments that took my breath away. Juliette and her sweet momma designed most of the wedding themselves. [Julia Wade, Photographer]
From the bride: Our wedding day turned out better than we could have imagined! We had planned to have an outdoor ceremony, followed by lawn games, and dinner in 100 year old barn. But the weather had a different idea, and what came out was one of the most intimate days of our lives. Our friends and family gathered around us and braved the terrible weather to help us move everything inside the barn. The ceremony was perfect, and just as I was getting ready to walk down the aisle with my dad, the sun peaked out from behind the clouds. We only had 3.5 months to plan the wedding, and it wouldn't have been possible without our friends and family. My mom and I spent many hours long distance on the phone, planning all the details, and then beseeching our crafty friends to help us pull off the vision. It was really amazing to see it all come together. One of my favorite moments was getting to dance with my dad. He's such a fantastic dancer, and the whole time I couldn't stop laughing with joy. The groom: Months before the wedding when Juliette first showed me the location I said, "I don't know how you did it but you planned my dream wedding without me even saying a word!" The barn, the views of the rolling hills and the feeling of being part of something larger than us was clear. We kept trying to take mental snapshots, wishing that every moment would stay just as it was so I could remember every detail. I kept exclaiming out loud and in my head, "I just want this day to last forever!" I was struck not only by how moving it was to see all the people in our life in once place, but how happy they were to see Juliette and I wed. One of my favorite parts of the evening was getting to sing and dance to our favorite songs with my favorite people. Kids and adults of all ages danced for over four hours.!We didn't want it to end, but we had planned to leave through an arch of sparklers and leapt into our vintage jeep as the get-away. But the car wouldn't start, and only after many restarts and nearly rolling backwards into the barn, we finally made it out of the driveway amid cheers and laughs, sealing what we thought was an absolutely perfect day.
