Leavenworth, Washington Wedding by Lifesong Photography

When my husband and I were planning our wedding back in 2009, one of my ideas were to have a backyard BBQ-type wedding. Sadly, that didn't happen but when I saw this beautiful wedding from Kristin of Lifesong Photography, I just knew that I wanted to share it. Kimber and Eloy had an beautiful outdoor BBQ wedding with lots of yummy desserts and drinks that took place at the Paradise on the River in Leavenworth, Washington. It was a truly beautiful wedding and I hope you enjoy this wedding as much as I did! Congratulations Kimber & Eloy!

Kimber & Eloy's favorite wedding day moment:

The couple’s pictures were a definite highlight of the day!  We loved stealing away from the organized chaos of wedding prep to be together, goof off and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.  Our photographers Kristin and Emily took us to the property of an acquaintance which proved to be a pretty amazing backdrop: from the wraparound veranda with breathtaking views and the random outdoor bathtub, to a beautiful barn bursting with amazingly restored retro cars, it was unconventional and fun.  They made the photo experience stress-free and one of laughter and creative exploration of the surroundings, which prepared us to walk down the aisle relaxed and full of anticipation.
Through talking in depth with the pastor who would perform the ceremony, we knew we wanted to integrate something symbolic in the wedding that would reflect not only our uniqueness as a couple, but also have great meaning to us spiritually. The act of washing one another's feet mirrored a goal that we had focused on in our marriage counseling: to serve one another with humility and selflessness, while still leading by example in an encouraging and positive way. We knew that some of our guests would find our symbolic "pedicure" a little odd, but decided that its personal significance would simply outweigh any criticism we might get!

Advice from Kimber & Eloy:
Our advice for engaged couples would be to express your desires for how you want your day to go, but remember that everyone involved is human, will make mistakes, and that’s ok!  Wedding days never go precisely as planned, so you might as well have a good attitude along the way.  Simply remember the true purpose of all that hard work comes down to the person holding your hand at the altar.  That day will only be a memory, but they will walk with you for the rest of your life…and forty years later, you want to look back and say, “wow, that was a good time!”
