Maryland DIY Wedding by ZADesignz
Brian and Leslie got married at the beautiful tent at the Shade Trees and Evergreens in Frederick Maryland. The tent has beautiful twinkle lighting on the ceiling, which provided intimate lighting during the reception. She wore a Marisa gown, and bejeweled shoes by Vera Wang. Her decor was DIY. The bride and groom cut their own place mats and napkins. The groom stamped each napkin with a beautiful fern pattern! They also made their own place cards, and guest signing canvas. They had mason jars for drinks, and purple and green flower centerpieces. Her bouquet has twined branches, and lavender roses. Their ceremony was very sweet; they had a gift box tradition implemented. Each had a gift for the other, and a love letter written for their spouse, and these were put in a box, and then locked. The box is to be opened after their 5th wedding anniversary, or whenever they go through a rough patch in their marriage. It was a very sweet idea. Overall the wedding was eco-friendly, DIY and beautiful. ~ZADesignz
From the bride: Our wedding could be described as rustic, elegant, and casual. We didn’t want people to feel obligated to dress up for our wedding, but instead for it to be more of a casual and fun experience for our guests. We had a more intimate sized wedding and kept the guest list to just our families and a few of our closest friends. Our color scheme was lavender and green, with hints of earthy browns. We attempted to hand craft our decorations where we could. The fingerprint tree, burlap placemats, and napkin stenciling were all created by my family, Brian, and I. The reception of our wedding started out as a blast literally. We entered to the song “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen with pop guns which shot confetti. Once we were seated dinner was served buffet style. Our guests enjoyed barbecue beef, pork, and chicken and sides from our caterer. Once dinner was done the rest of our night was danced away on the dance floor between the bouquet toss and cake cutting ceremonies. Our wedding night ended with us taking some long exposure camera shots with sparklers followed by us having our last dance to Michelle Featherstone’s “We Are Man and Wife”. My most memorable moment would have to be when I was walking down the aisle and seeing how everything I had planned for the previous 18 months had come together. But what made my day most spectacular was the thought that today would be the day that I marry the one I love and nothing in the world could ruin that. Our ceremony consisted of a hand holding prayer, a box ceremony, and of course the exchanging of the rings. For our box ceremony we decided to place a letter to each other and a gift inside the box. We would then open the box on our fifth wedding anniversary, read the letters to each other and open the gifts. This was to be our own little time capsule to ourselves to remind us of our wedding day five years from now and just how special everything turned out. All of our vendors were superb and surpassed our expectations. We would like to thank our photographer Zareth Acosta for capturing all of the special moments from our wedding. We will forever treasure these photos as we will forever treasure each and every memory of our wedding.
