Napa Valley Engagement Session from Melissa Ergo Photography

"We met at a summer job between years at college. We started out as friends and kept in touch for a while, but we went to college in completely different states (Minnesota & New York) so it was hard for us to form a deeper relationship. Finally we decided that distance couldn't keep us apart any longer, after Jessica's final year in college, they packed up Steven's life in Minnesota and road tripped back to their home, the SF Bay Area. We have lived there happily together ever since and are getting married next May." -Jessica & Steven

Urban Engagement Session in Nashville

"Katherine and Weston fell in love in Memphis and have decided to make Nashville their home after their November wedding. Katherine has already made the move, and she's eager to have Weston join her soon! They wanted to celebrate this new phase in their live with a very "Nashville" location. Katherine works in fashion and is full of style, so it was only fitting to showcase their love story on the iconic pedestrian bridge downtown along with a few other spots around Nashville. They didn't stop laughing for one moment which made capturing their love effortless. They are planning a sweet fall wedding at CJ's off the Square, a beautiful garden venue outside of Nashville." -Amy Nicole Photography

A Romantic Engagement Session in Film

"We had a blast shooting our engagement session with Kristin! She was so much fun to work with. Our biggest concern was getting the weather to cooperate. It had literally been storming all throughout the day right up until our session was about to begin. The clouds parted and Kristin was able to get some beautiful shots. Eric and I were not really sure on what we were supposed to do, but Kristin kept everything running smoothly with her fantastic ideas with posing and hilarious comments. She brought out our natural selves and was able to catch all of it on film." -Kristine & Eric

Their love story: After we had both graduated from our separate colleges and moved back to Naperville, we reconnected and the rest is history!

The proposal: Eric proposed to me the week before Christmas of 2013. We had a few friends over before heading out to dinner. Eric and I were taking pictures by the Christmas tree when he dropped to his knee and pulled out my ring! It was so unexpected and romantic. Our friends were able to catch all of it on video so we have it to look back on. Eric kept the surprises coming by having all of our friends and family waiting at our favorite restaurant later that night to celebrate. Definitely a Christmas I won't be forgetting!

San Francisco Engagement Session

"We knew we wanted to incorporate our love for traveling, documenting our life with photos and videos and my love for baking. We had scouted all over California to find a fitting location for us. When we came across this treehouse on airbnb, we instantly knew that this was the perfect place to capture our engagement photos." -the couple

Their love story: Kris and I first met during our college years. It was my first day working at Lacoste and Kris was nice enough to give me his commission for the day as a welcoming gesture. Although my coworkers and I thought it was crazy for such a nice gesture, I knew he was different right off the bat. We were friends for awhile before any sort of love connection. Then one day he randomly confessed his feelings for me. I was totally caught off guard and had to let him down gently. Although to this day he still claims that I had sent signals of interest, I really never thought of him as more than just a friend. Things changed quickly from there. Embarrassed of his confession, Kris started looking for another job. It made me instantly sad knowing that I wouldn’t be seeing him everyday and it made me realize that I still wanted him to be apart of my life. For reasons unknown to me, I couldn’t let this oddball leave my side.
It’s been almost 7 years since then and it has been the best years of our lives. We share a passion for food and traveling and we always try to make the most out of our time. Which has been such a great adventure so far and we can’t wait for what comes next. We’re looking forward to raising our future little monsters and taking care of our furbaby (dog), Toffer, as he gets older :)

How he proposed: Kris and I love to travel and every time we go on vacation we always love to document it with lots of photos and videos. Since our first trip to Paris back in 2010, Kris would always make a vacation highlight video for all our trips. So for my 30th birthday, he wanted to take me to Spain for the week. We spent our time in Madrid and Barcelona visiting different museums, famous landmarks and enjoying all the good eats. It was towards the end of our trip that Kris decided to propose to me. We had visited the incredible La Sagrada Familia Basilica and was headed to Parc de la Ciutadella. We made a little stop at a bench to enjoy the view of the Cascada Monumental, a beautiful monument built in 1888. Kris then pretended to time-lapse the people walking by but he was actually waiting for good moment to propose. We were sitting there for a bit and of course I was getting sleepy and wanted to lean on him to sneak in a 10 minute nap. He kept trying to keep me awake until the crowds would clear but the Cascada Monumental was such a popular landmark that it was hard not to have any tourist and cyclist making stops in front of it. He knew he didn’t want to propose with such a large crowd and decided to move us to the side of the Casada Monumental. He then setup the tripod to record a shot of both of us waving at the camera, like he always does. But this time when I realized he wasn’t waving. I looked over to him and saw that he was on his knee holding the ring. I instantly froze and all these tears just kept running down my face. I don’t think I even moved for at least 10 seconds or even said yes to him. I was just in complete and utter shock. I’m glad Kris was able to capture our engagement because so much was going on in my mind that i wanted to remember the moment. He did such an amazing job surprising me and i love and appreciate all the planning and work he put into it. Lincoln Park Engagement Session

About their engagement session: "The engagement session went great because Mark and Magda used some of the things in our neighborhood Jenny and I love the most, like the architecture of some of the buildings and the trees and nature in Lincoln Park. It felt natural, not staged. And the feedback we received from our friends was overwhelming, people saying they could really see how in love we are by the photos."

Their love story: We met on Match.com. As a writer/editor, one of the things I liked about the site was you could tell who's able to put a few sentences together. Jenny's wit and sense of humor were obvious from the moment I saw her headline, which was "Live Every Week Like It's Shark Week," and the ensuing anecdotes enhanced my initial perception. As a psychotherapist, Jenny has developed - or has always possessed - the ability to approach stress with calm and empathy, and she's been my sympathetic ear, trusted adviser, loyal companion and critic, when necessary. But the one quality that I always point to as the one I love the most is her ability to make me laugh, and her ever-present laughter. Rarely a day goes by without us sharing moments of serious laughter, and never does a day go by without us sharing a hug in the morning or a kiss at night. It's those moments of laughter and intimacy that serve as the foundation for our love. We've been with each other for over 2 1/2 years, but I feel like we're just starting out and I can't wait to live the rest of my life with Jenny, who's made me the luckiest guy in the world.

How he proposed: It's corny, but often on Saturday mornings I go for a run and stop by the market near us for groceries, and I always get flowers that I present to Jenny to signify our "weekend of love." Well one Saturday morning I prepared a collage of some of our favorite photos and put it in a glass-bottom tray, along with a rose, two glasses of mimosas and the ring. When Jenny woke up, I put our favorite song on and carried the tray into the bedroom like it was breakfast in bed. Then Jenny saw the ring and I proposed!
