Describe how you felt when you saw each other for the first time:
From the Bride: When I first saw Jordan it was like falling in love all over again. It was the first time that day I felt calm and centered. The nerves of getting married and making sure the day goes perfectly went away. He looked amazing. I had butterflies in my stomach and could not wait to marry him right then and there!
From the Groom: I was absolutely blown away when I first turned around and saw Julie standing there in her wedding dress. We had talked about the "first look", but I had no idea that she would look that beautiful. Everything felt right in the world knowing that we were together and about to get married.
Favorite moment?
From the Bride: My favorite part of the day, aside from when we were finally announced "Mr. & Mrs. Jordan Harding", was our first dance to "The Luckiest". All of our guests were sitting at their tables watching us, but for those few minutes, it really did feel like it was just the two of us dancing together with no one else in the room.
From the Groom: My favorite part of the day, again, aside from finally getting married, was when all of our friends and family were on the dance floor at the beginning of the night. The lights were perfect, the music was perfect (those are the things I was most worried about since I used to be a DJ myself) and everyone was starting the night off right and it was one huge party!
Unique or special traditions?
Since Julie is Jewish and Jordan is Lutheran, it was important for both of us to include the traditions in our wedding that meant the most to us instead of following a generic/typical wedding ceremony. We had a Reverend from the Unity Church marry us and she was fantastic! We got married under a beautiful chuppah and had both of our parents walk us each down the isle and stand with us under the chuppah throughout the whole ceremony. Instead of having just the moms light the Unity Candle we had a sand ceremony where each of our parents and both of our sisters poured sand into a vase to symbolize the whole family coming together as one. We also found a poem that meant something to us that we read as our vows and when we exchanged rings said it in English and Hebrew. We also had two readings and two songs, all 4 were beautiful and not only meant something to both of us, but helped our guests understand us better as a couple and get a peek into how true our love really is. It ended up being a beautiful combination of both religions and a unique and gorgeous ceremony.
Advice for couples getting married?
The best advice we can give you together would be that when it comes to your day, don't forget what the whole day is about...you two getting married. Whatever you've planned, no matter how hard you've worked, the day will go as the day is meant to go. You've done what you can up to this point and the most important part now is to be a couple, enjoy yourselves, love each other and remember that your wedding day is about the two of you getting married. Your guests can entertain themselves, they're there to see you, but remember to stay together throughout the day/night. You only have one wedding. We stayed by each others' side the whole night and for that, we will have the same memories of our wedding day.
