Their love story:
We met at a mutual friend's backyard bbq party one summer night in Brooklyn. I immediately spotted Nat from across the yard because he was so tall, handsome, and wearing a pink blazer. Towards the end of the night we started talking for a few minutes, then he had to leave the party. He was living in Texas at the time, so I did not see or hear from him for another year. Yet I never forgot him. We ran into each other a year later at another mutual friends birthday party. He had moved up to NYC at that time. Our first date, was one of the best nights of my life, we danced the entire night and fell in love. We've been together ever since.
The proposal:
It was NOT a surprise at all! Nat is so funny and could not contain himself, so he told me exactly how, when, and where it would happen. We were walking along the deserted beaches of Captiva Island, FL watching the sunset when he asked for my hand. Even though it was completely expected, it was so emotional and sweet.
Lauren from A Guy + A Girl did such an amazing job, and we were so lucky to work with her. We choose to shoot at the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park, and Lauren came to the site early to scope out all the best shots. Lauren was so enthusiastic, and she put us at ease and had us laughing the whole time. Despite the chilly 45 degree weather, we had a great time! Lauren choose most of the shots, and she had sketched out how each shot was to look. Yet she was also so receptive to our shoot ideas, and worked on the fly! The first time we saw all the photos in their entirety, Nat and I got emotional. We couldn't be happier with the resulting photos- they truly capture "us" and our love.
