How did Love & Lace Bridal and Tailor come to be?
The idea of Love and Lace has long been in the works, but it was very abstract and generic. I was unhappy practicing law for years, dealing with unhappy clients and problems that inadvertently came home with me at the end of the day. After I had my daughter I realized how little quality time I was spending with her and my husband. So it was time to do something different. I had always wanted to do something in the fashion arena, but was unsure what. After much discussion, research and TONS of prayer, we decided that a bridal salon in Orange County was the answer. A bridal salon that carries new, different and unique designers with an emphasis on quality and customer service. By the grace of God, here we are!
What is your favorite thing about owning a bridal salon?
My favorite thing about owning a bridal salon are the dresses! I love looking at them, researching them, ordering them, drooling over them, and selling them!
What kind of gowns does Love & Lace carry?
Love and Lace strives to carry a carefully hand-picked selection of beautiful and breathtaking gowns. I have researched meticulously for specific dresses that encompass romance, softness, grace and joy. We pride ourselves in carrying designers and dresses that can't be found at another Orange County bridal salon, to give our brides an unforgettable and special shopping experience.
Which designers can we find at Love & Lace?
We carry the following designers, and are constantly in the lookout for more! Kelly Faetanini: based out of New York, she is currently only in a handful of Nordstrom stores on the West coast. Her dresses are unique, so so so well made and completely romantic! Leanne Marshall: she is a Project Runway winner, and designs wedding dresses that have an ethereal quality, with lots of lace and silk. Chaviano Couture: new designer out of Atlanta, she donates a portion of all dress proceeds to various mission all across the world. Her dresses are made of the highest quality fabrics and very beautifully intricate. Mikaella Bridal: this is an affordable collection of modern dresses, made of lace, tulle and the best of satin. St. Pucchi: based out of Los Angeles, this collection is luxurious, elegant and completely breathtaking. Everything is of the highest quality,and is for that bride that wants the very best!
You offer tailoring services. Tell us more about that.
My family has been in the tailoring business ever since I was little. My sister and I grew up in our family's tailor shop, and it all comes naturally to me. We do tailoring on all bridal and formal wear, as well as general alterations. Tailoring is second nature to me, and I love helping brides achieve that perfect fit on their wedding dress...which can sometimes only be done through altering the dress a bit!
Other than bridal gowns, what else can we find at your salon?
We have bridesmaid dresses, amazing veils by Veiled Beauty, bridal sashes and hair accessories. We also offer brides our exclusive -vendor recommendations. We work with and recommend one vendor from each category, and we stand behind that vendor for their quality if work and integrity.
What advice can you give to brides shopping for a bridal gown right now?
I would say to not shop around too much. It can get completely overwhelming and crazy! There are so many dresses out there, you will seriously go nuts trying to try as many on as possible. The same way you made a decision about your fiancé and stopped "shopping around", do the same with your dress...once you find you like and makes you happy, snap it up!
