Winter Love Shoot

Love is beautiful in every season but we personally covet love in winter. All dressed in white, love reveals itself differently. Majestic, it generously covers us in snowflakes which we collect kissing those sweet cheeks of someone we cherish so dearly, and we keep each other warm as we cuddle together.

This winter love inspired session by Sabrina Nohling presents this sweet couple that shares their love story with us through laughter, hugs and smiles. He, who takes her to the land of snow covered trees, will love to hold her tight as she smiles at him because to her he's the best man of God!

Love is all!

From the couple: Jimmy and I first met in high school when we lived in Florida. We became really good friends and I had the biggest crush on him but he was always taken or the timing never worked out. So we went on being friends and were in and out of each others lives. When I was a senior and he was in college, he suddenly came back in the picture. I was shocked to see him again and everything changed. The feelings were there and on both ends. I was against dating guys and wary of their intentions though. Yet Jimmy was so admit and made it very clear that he was pursuing me and wanted me to be his wife. I was scared but then realized I couldn't live without him. He is the most incredible man of God and I loved everything about him. Pretty soon after that we got married. We didn't care how old we were, he was 20 and I was 19. We just knew we couldn't spend our lives with anyone else. looking back we were so young yet through it all our loved blossomed and stood strong. It may be cheesy but every girl deserves to be loved the way Jimmy loves me. He leads me in life and challenges me in my walk with God. He really is the most amazing guy and I am so blessed to call him my husband. Since we got married we moved to South Carolina for a time and then recently we made the move to the suburbs of Chicago earlier this year. Chicago's white Christmas is so different from Florida's. So we wanted to do a fun photoshoot to celebrate our anniversary and our first Christmas in the snow. A Christmas tree farm was the perfect location for our snowy photos and it felt like it was out of a movie scene. The perfect snowfall to celebrate the years together and the love we share.

Winter Engagement Session

From the photographer: "She asked, and he said “Yes”! This is the romantic and unconventional story behind Sarah Jane and Trevor’s engagement. They both are lovers of the outdoors, and live a very laid back, "Portlandia" lifestyle and wanted their engagement photos to reflect just that. With corgi (Spencer) in tow, we headed up Mt. Hood to Timberline Lodge - a historic Oregon landmark that is rich in history and natural beauty. It was a gorgeous winter day on the mountain, and the chilly air only encouraged SJ and Trevor to snuggle closer - making our job a piece of cake! Their vintage inspired Christmas sweaters and Trevor's hand-me-down red checked flannel jacket (once owned by SJ's Grandpa) were the perfect color pallet to compliment the snow capped evergreens. Inside the lodge we all cozied up to lavished hot chocolate and hearty eats from the Ram's Head Bar, located on the second floor where the mountain views are breathtaking. As photographers, we feel a sense of accomplishment when we can successfully use a lifestyle shooting approach to produce a fine art set of images that capture the unique qualities of each couple."

Winter Mountain Engagement Session

What't sweeter than love and marshmallows? Maybe love, kisses, marshmallows with your significant one?! Of course, it is especially when that sweet love involves a special love story behind how these two lovely people met.. It was an old-fashioned way, but it still makes the bride to-be smiled each time she tells it (make sure to get to know Chase and Jessie by reading a little description of how they met).

This wonderful engagement session tells the story of the two loving hearts growing together in the name of love they found, and there surrounded by majestic snow covered mountains, all bundled up and cozy, these two had fun sipping hot chocolate with delicious treats to make their love the sweetest thing ever!

Couple's Love Story: Meeting Chase, was a complete accident. It was the good ole fashion way on Facebook. I befriended him thinking he was someone else I knew, but lucky me, he wasn't. He didn't know me, and I didn't know him so I tried to brush it off and apologize once he confronted me via message. But there was a little spark, and we ended up building some kind of relationship through a full month of detailed messages about each other and our lives. The excitement was so real. I felt like I knew him all my life even though I had never even laid eyes on him before! After some time, we finally decided to meet. I was going to school in Idaho at the time. Chase traveled up there from Utah for work every so often so the timing was perfect. When we met in person for our first time it wasn't awkward like I thought it would be, probably because we had gotten to know each other so well beforehand. Our date was hands down the best date I had ever been on, and at the end of it, he surprised me with a kiss. After that first date, distance was the only thing that kept us apart. Every week we would trade off and travel to one another, and it was always so worth it. Our relationship grew into love. As time went on, the excitement of what our future held kept creeping up on me, but I didn't know how to bring it up to Chase. We would joke about marriage but that was about it! Chase was preparing to leave to California for 4 months during the summer for a sales job, but before he left, I was determined to know if our relationship had potential to become more permanent! Chase never brought up marriage, and always steered away from the subject. It was a time of complete stress for me, but he felt the same way I felt for him, I felt like it would work out eventually. Before his job of summer sales started, we went to Disneyland for some fun. While we were there, Chase asked me if I wanted to get a self-character drawing done of us...I told him it would be fun but we didn't have to because of how expensive it was. However, he insisted! So we went ahead with it! Little did I know, during the long 30 minutes of sitting and waiting, Gil, artist (yes I still remember his name,) was drawing my future. When he finished I went to look at the drawing of us and to my surprise it was my best friend proposing to me. I turned around to see Chase and he was kneeling with a ring box in his hand, opening it towards me. It was the biggest and happiest surprise of my life and I will never forget that moment.

About the shoot: Jessie and Chase truly embraced their mountain winter engagement session and let their playful love really show with winter sledding and a toasty campfire made for roasting smore's! Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon added to the charming winters feel with its charming dark waters and majestic snow-covered mountains all around. Simple and easy activities, themed for the season, helped make Jessie and Chase's engagement session, take on a photographic lifestyle feel and provided good supply of candid and natural images! It is simple to see the natural love of a couple in such simple and unposed moments.

Winter Engagement Session by Infused Studios

We'd love to give a standing ovation to this beautiful couple who thought out of the box when planning their winter engagement shoot with Infused Studios. What you're about to see here on Le Magnifique is an ode to the nature and the beauty of winter.

The beauty of the most magical background we've ever seen, formed by the freezing of falling water embellished with sparkly snowflakes, luminous and mesmerizing, the couple looked just fantastic. Standing in the center of the ice castle, surrounded by the masterfully carved doors that winter decorated for our favorite holiday season, these two just made us believe in fairy tales we enjoyed listening to in our childhood.. This entire shoot inspired by the cold of ice and the heat of two loving hearts is truly one of our favorites and we are excited to share it with you and wish you magical  and festive days that are just around the corner!

How he proposed: I knew after about 6 months that I was going to marry Cara, and likely not too far into the future. We had started talking about getting married and even went ring shopping together so I could see what style of ring she'd like. One day she told me she wanted to get engaged while on vacation, and particularly in New York because she saw an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress" where this guy proposed to his girlfriend on a horse carriage ride through New York. We had actually been talking about taking a trip to New York sometime in the future and little did she know that it had actually crossed my mind that that would be the perfect place to propose. When I heard her say this though, I told her "well now I can't propose to you in New York because you'd be expecting it! Plus that horse carriage ride thing is so cliché!"
But when I started thinking about it I thought "well why not New York? If that's her dream proposal then I should try real hard to give it to her in a way that would make us both happy." I didn't want to do the cliché horse carriage ride, but I thought that Central Park would be the perfect location. I envisioned somehow setting up a little display somewhere in the Park that we would "accidentally" walk up to. "Luckily" we had gotten into an argument the night before. The next day I got up early and told her I was going out to buy things for a picnic in Central Park. She had mentioned a couple of days earlier that she wanted to have a picnic there. She immediately offered to come with me, but I told her I felt bad about the night before and was going to do this myself as a way of making it up to her. I went out and bought some food and sandwiches, then cabbed to Central Park to set things up. I chose a spot on Cherry Hill, next to the "Friends fountain" and overlooking the lake and boathouse. I set everything up with a sign next to the iPod saying "Play Me" and one next to the box saying "Open Me". I called her and told her where I was (she was expecting me to go back after buying the food, not go ahead without her to Central Park,) and how to get there. She showed up about an hour later, and when I saw her I got up and told her I needed to go to the bathroom (there were no bathrooms anywhere, I just wanted her to go through my display on her own). I took a walk around the fountain and went back to her, and I heard the music playing and saw her going through the last pages of the album. When I got to her I knelt down on one knee and looked into her eyes. She was already crying; she said she got emotional because of the nice gesture I had made and she thought I was making things up to her for the night before. Then I pulled the ring box out of my pocket and told her "Baby there's one more box left to open". I opened the box and she saw the ring and she started bawling uncontrollably! I told her "You are the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you" but then I got scared when all she did was keep crying. It actually crossed my mind that she might say no! But turns out she was just so overcome with emotion that all she could do was cry. Eventually she said "Yes!" and we just hugged and held each other for about 10 minutes. It was without a doubt the highest point of my life...

Winter Engagement Session by Andrea Brionne Photography

We're loving this snowy winter engagement session by the lovely Andrea Brionne Photography. We love the snow-covered mountains and beautiful yellow trees, don't you? We hope you enjoy this engagement session and are able to pull some inspiration from it for your upcoming winter engagement session!

How he proposed: I knew that the proposal was coming I was just not sure as to when. I had several clues, being that September 19th was our 5 Month anniversary and his parents were going to be in town. For a few weeks Shaun had mentioned to me that he wanted to go and hike Donut Falls. After school Shaun was finished with School for the day he came to pick me up. We then headed to Sandy to go "Hires Big H" a restaurant which is owned by one of his best friends father. So we ate there and chit chatted and enjoyed being with each other. We then headed on our drive up the canyon to Donut Falls. We then went on the hike and ended up taking a wrong turn. We then ended up hiking down the waterfall instead of up to it. So we climbed down the mountain into the waterfall. There we started talking and then set up the camera timer to be able to get a picture of us in the waterfall. We ended up taking several sets of pictures. Then Shaun was persistent about taking another round of pictures. (Which me absolutely in love with pictures was excited about, however I was confused as to why he would want to do that) Then I thought to myself, " He is going to propose, and maybe he wants an action picture of himself on his knee." My heart immediately started pounding as I then began to anticipate the proposal. We set the camera timer for one last time and then he came and stood by me. He then proceeded to pull out a ring box, my brain froze. I was confused he was not getting down on one knee. He then said, " Kaitlin there is something that I have been wanting to give you." He then struggles to open the box and then pulls out a beautiful silver diamond necklace! Ha he then said, " I tricked you huh?" So then we proceeded to climb down the waterfall/ mountain. Shaun then continued and started to trail run down the hike. We both ran down the mountain until we got to our car. He then asked me if I wanted to go on another hike. I thought to myself, " Of course why not? He is not proposing this weekend." We then got in the car and then headed to what is known as Silver Lake. He then told me that I could change out of my muddy tennis shoes into my cute sandals. As we were not going to be on much of a hike, but rather a beautiful walk. We got out of the car and began walking on this board walk that wrapped around the entire lake. The lake to the right and forest on our left. It was an absolutely gorgeous view and once again, it was just nice to be with him. As we began walking I spotted a red canoe in the distance as I then turned to Shaun and said, " It would be so much fun to go on a canoe ride with you someday. We then kept walking and I began to see red rose pedals on the ground. At the moment I KNEW it was happening. As we got closer we were led to that very same red canoe I had seen earlier. He then said," Your wish is my command." As I looked at the red canoe there were 2 dozen roses along with a cooler in the canoe with a sparkly cider mexican drink and roses also laid out on the canoe. He asked if I wanted to go for a ride. We then got on the canoe and pushed off into the lake. We just smiled and laughed and talked about how much we have truly enjoyed these past 5 months together. He mentioned to me that it was the happiest he has ever been. It began to get cold as he then asked me if I would like to go back in. He told me that he wanted to show me something that he made for me. We then headed back in and he told me to sit down on a log. He then came and sat right next to me and pulled out a photo book that he had made. The title page said, " The story of how we met and fell in love." The book went through our entire dating story, our first date, first hand hold, first kiss, first time he said, " I love you." We were smiling and laughing as we went through this book. We got to the second to last page which had a ton of pictures of all our temple pictures together. He said how he has always enjoyed our temple trips. He then told me to turn to the last page. As I turned to the last page he got down on his knee and said, " Kaitlin Elise Gray will you marry me?" I immediately shouted YES almost before he could finish his sentence. Then out of the bushes came his two parents with nice zoom in cameras and his roommate had a video camera, so they were able to capture it all on film. (P.s. the last page had a picture of the Mesa Arizona Temple on it, where we will be getting married! ) After his parents kept talking pictures Shaun then said to me, "Thats not all, we are going to La Caille." That is a very fancy restaurant in Utah and the same one that we went to when he first kissed me and told me that he loved me 5 months earlier. We then went there as his mom took some pictures of us as we reminisced of where we first had truly fallen in love.
